Lodi Juggling Festival
A review by Andrew Conway
It's now about a week after this year's Lodi Juggling Festival, and time
for me to say thanks to everyone who helped. First of all thanks to Barry
Bakalor for putting together a great public show, aided by tech staff Susie
Williams and Mark Bakalor. Thanks to all the performers, especially to the
60% of Clockwork who was MC. Thanks to Sue Bakalor and Ada Spade for
selling tickets, to everyone who helped with the BBQ, to Neil Stammer for
dropping his prices by 20% for the weekend and for stealing seven balls
from Brian Patz, to Steve Mills for doing the eponymous mess with his eyes
closed and giving me a chance to use the word "eponymous" and to Jeff
Daymont for bringing Sergei. Finally, thanks to all of the 200 or so
jugglers who came this year.
The festival raised over $200 each for the San Joaquin Womens' Center and
for Oxfam America's Third World agricultural programs, as well as
establishing a reserve fund which will be used for long term development of
the festival. First priority is better shower facilities for next year.
If anyone has any ideas for improving or enhancing the festival please let
me know.
