47th Annual MadFest Juggling Convention

Therbligs: Therbligs are expected to be minimal, but protection is recommended. A thin coating of Vaseline or a sprig of licorice (natural, not artificial) placed in the left breast pocket is usually effective. In case of emergency, vice-grips will be available at the front desk for a nominal charge.

Brunch: Celebrating the reunion of that exclusive society, the MadBrunchers, we will be gathering next door to open juggling from 10:00 AM-Noon on Sunday. Cost: $4. 100 tickets will be available Friday and Saturday.

Public Show: Once again, the 47th Annual MadFest Juggling Extravaganza will take place at the beautiful and historic Barrymore Theater, 2090 Atwood Avenue; on Saturday night at 7:00 PM. Tickets are still only $4 in advance and $5 on the day of the show. Warning: For the last 3 years, all 800 tickets were sold in advance. Those of you wishing to perform at the public show should contact T.R. Loon.

Renegade Show: Late Saturday night, at the new secret location, by invitation only.

Vendors: A good assortment of prop vendors and money changers are expected to be in attendance.

Lodging: Those of you who cleave unto loafing on the floor will be accommodated, of course. Call Melonhead (608) 233-2251 for deluxe floor crashing accommodations. Be sure to leave him a wacky message. We have reserved a block of rooms at each of the following UW-Extension Conference Centers. Reservations must be made at least three weeks before Madfest (that would be before December 20, 1996). Be sure to tell them you're attending Madfest.

Directions to the Memorial Union
From the North: From I-90/94 exit HWY 151 S. From HWY 151, continue into Madison on East Washington Ave. Turn Right at Webster (1 block before the Capitol). Turn Left on Dayton. Turn Right on Wisconsin. Turn Left on Langdon. Memorial Union is at the end of the street.

From the East: From I-94 exit HWY 30. Exit HWY 30 at East Washington Ave. Then follow From the North directions.

From the South: From I-90 exit left on HWY 12/18 W. Take the John Nolen Dr. exit. Turn Left at the fourth stoplight/Shore Dr. Shore Dr. turns into Proudfit, turns into Regent St., then Turn Right at Park Street. Turn Right at Langdon St. Memorial Union is on your Left.

From the West: Follow either HWY 12/14 or HWY 18/151 to the John Nolen Dr. exit. Then follow From the South directions.

Parking: Park in the Lot off Langdon Street (plug meters or get ticketed on Friday and Saturday, free on Sunday). Or continue on Langdon Street to Stop Sign and Turn right on Lake Street. Go two blocks to big city parking ramp on left (much cheaper than meters near Union).
