Boop-Oop-A-Doop

Animation; Ann Little, Billy Murray, William Pennell

released: 1932 Jan 16   duration: 0:08:05

This is an early Betty Boop cartoon starting with Betty dancing a shimmy, and when the scene zooms out, it reveals that this is actually a drawing of Betty on a circus banner, rippling in the wind. When an elephant lumbers past, bearing a giant inkwell on his back, Koko the Clown makes his familiar entrance out of the inkwell. Betty works in the circus as a lion tamer and walks on a high wire. Betty is pursued by the lustful ringmaster, whose moustache has a life of its own. Betty sings "Don't Take My Boop-Oop-A-Doop Away."

At 06:53, Koko the Clown does a 5 ball shower, and when he walks away, his hands remain and continue juggling without him.
