Children of ParadiseMarcel Carné film; Arletty, Pierre Brasseur, Pierre Renoir
France. Original title: Les enfants du paradis. This movie usually appears in lists of the best films ever made. The protagonist is a mime, but don't hold it against him. He works at the Funambules in Paris. It seems that at some stage a century or two ago, theatre was made illegal in Paris. To get around this, theatre shows were performed on a tightrope, since circus and vaudeville weren't illegal.
There is some background juggling and various other circus skills in
this amazing film.
