Juggling in Movies

The Little Hut (1957)

[Ava Gardner, Stewart Granger, David Niven, Walter Chiari, Finlay Currie]

Three people, Susan and Philip Ashlow, played by Ava Gardner and David Niven, and Henry Brittingham-Brett, played by Stewart Granger, are washed ashore on a deserted island after a shipwreck. Henry is Susan's lover. Since the island is filled with things to eat, they can concentrate on the love triangle between Susan and the two men.

At 49:07, and for the next minute, David Niven practices juggling three coconuts three times. He is a bit clumsy, with obviously little expertise, but he does it himself.

At 50:45, and for the next minute, David Niven demonstrates his juggling skill for Ava Gardner, and then for Stewart Granger. Granger responds with a polished juggling routine with several tricks, but he clearly does not juggle himself, but only through the use of a stand-in.
