A race-car driver, preparing for the Grand Prix, wiles his time in Las Vegas working as a waiter to pay for his new engine. Soon, he strikes up a romance with a beautiful young woman.

are performing their
plate spinning routine.
As Carl is about to place the tenth and final plate, he trips on the
stand holding them, falling down, and knocking all of the plates to the
stage floor, where they all shattered to bits, all in 19 seconds.
