It really is a nice book. I decided I'd try learning Burkes Barrage from it first, since I had had trouble learning it from "Beyond the Cascade." After about half an hour, it clicked so that I could do about 4 cycles, and I figured I was on my way. But today, while searching for "Dancey" in the JIS, I came upon this article: Paul Meathrel writes: > Subject: Re: The Encyclopedia of Ball Juggling > Date: Mon, 28 Nov 1994 15:52:58 GMT > > is now more highly valued than Beyond the Cascade (If you don't own it Buy it > !). I did however notice that there is a error in the description of Burkes > Barrage, the author, Charles Dancey actually describes Mills Mess with takeouts > rather than BB. In BB the ball is carried through the pattern rather than > around. > Paul Meathrel If you think you know what Burke's Barrage is supposed to be, let's hear about it. I don't think Paul Meathrel can be completely correct in calling the pattern from the book "Mills Mess with takeouts" because the pattern it describes is 423 rather than simply 3 as in Mills Mess. But Dancey definitely says the ball is carried around the pattern rather than through it. -- Nathan Hoover nathan@hal.com 408-379-7000x1331 Campbell, CA, USA Click here to see my home page.
